Muba Regency Government Partners with Bank Sumsel Babel to Strengthen Digital and Transparent Regional Tax System

PALEMBANG, October 29, 2025 — The Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Regency Government is collaborating with Bank Sumsel Babel (BSB) to strengthen its digital-based regional tax system. This collaboration was marked by the signing of an agreement between the Muba Regency Regional Tax and Retribution Management Agency (BPPRD) and the Sekayu Branch of Bank Sumsel Babel at the Jakabaring Head Office in Palembang, as a concrete step towards more transparent, accountable, and efficient regional financial governance.

Through this synergy, all regional tax and retribution payments in Muba Regency will be conducted cashlessly, utilizing Bank Sumsel Babel's Virtual Account (VA) system and other digital payment channels. This innovation is expected to make it easier for the public to pay taxes anytime and anywhere, while simultaneously reducing potential leakage and accelerating regional financial reporting.

Meanwhile, PPS President Director of Bank Sumsel Babel, Festero Mohamad Papeko, emphasized that this step aligns with Bank Sumsel Babel's mission to strengthen the digital-based regional financial ecosystem.

"We believe that regional progress will be realized if the public financial system is transparent and efficient. Bank Sumsel Babel is committed to being a strategic partner for local governments in strengthening digital payment systems, supporting the optimization of tax revenues, and ensuring modern and accountable financial governance," he said.

With the support of reliable banking technology infrastructure, Bank Sumsel Babel will provide various digital payment channels such as QRIS, Virtual Accounts, and Digital RKUD integration, which are directly connected to local government systems. This initiative is also expected to improve the Regional Government Transaction Electronification Index (ETPD) in Muba Regency.

This collaboration between the Muba Regency Government and Bank Sumsel Babel is part of a joint effort to build a culture of non-cash transactions in the community while strengthening the spirit of good governance at the regional level.
