Tips for Securing Your PIN
  • Do not tell your PIN to anyone, not even family or close friends.
  • Avoid writing down your PIN anywhere, especially storing it in your wallet.
  • Make sure others cannot see your PIN by shielding your fingers when pressing the PINPAD or entering your PIN.
  • Change your PIN periodically with a unique combination that is hard to guess.
  • Beware of fraud attempts by people claiming to be Bank officers via phone or email asking for personal data, including your PIN.
  • Bank officers will NEVER ask for your PIN.
  • Check the transaction amount entered by the cashier on the EDC machine.
  • Always keep an eye on your card.
  • Cover your hand when entering your PIN on the pinpad.
  • Always ask for your Bank Sumsel Babel Debit card back.
  • Do not share your PIN with anyone, including bank officers or family.
  • If you have trouble with EDC transactions, contact the official Bank Sumsel Babel Call Center at 1500711.
  • Double swipe is swiping a Credit or Debit card on the cashier machine after payment via EDC.
  • Bank Indonesia prohibits card swiping on cashier machines because it can lead to data misuse. One swipe on the EDC is enough.
  • To avoid double swipes, ask the cashier beforehand whether they will swipe your card on the cashier machine.
  • Prevent the transaction if the merchant cashier tries to swipe your credit or debit card on the cashier machine.
  • Report immediately to the Bank Sumsel Babel Call Center if a double swipe has already occurred.
