Bank Sumsel Babel and Bangka Belitung University Establish Strategic Partnership

Pangkalpinang, August 28, 2025 – The Regional Development Bank of South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung (Bank Sumsel Babel) officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Bangka Belitung (UBB) as a commitment to strengthening synergy between education and the regional banking sector. The MoU signing coincided with the soft launch of the "UBB-Bank Sumsel Babel Partnership Class" held in Pangkalpinang.

This partnership is expected to become a model of strategic collaboration that not only supports improving the quality of education but also provides opportunities for students to understand real-world workplace practices, particularly in the finance and banking sectors.

PPS President Director of Bank Sumsel Babel, Festero Mohamad Papeko, emphasized that this initiative is part of Bank Sumsel Babel's responsibility as a regionally-owned enterprise (BUMD) to directly contribute to improving the quality of human resources in Bangka Belitung.

"We believe education is a long-term investment for the future of the region. Through this partnership class, Bank Sumsel Babel aims to be more involved with the younger generation, providing practical experience and instilling professional values ??from an early age. We hope that Bangka Belitung University graduates will become superior talents ready to compete, while also making a real contribution to regional economic development," said Festero.

Meanwhile, Bangka Belitung University welcomed this collaboration as a crucial opportunity to enrich the curriculum with applied materials and expand its partnership network. The presence of Bank Sumsel Babel as a partner is believed to provide significant added value for students, both through banking practices, joint research, and the development of internship programs.

The soft launch event was warmly attended by the leadership of Bangka Belitung University, the PPS President Director of Bank Sumsel Babel, accompanied by the Head of the Corporate Secretary Division, Mr. Teddy Kurniawan, and the management of Bank Sumsel Babel's Pangkal Pinang Branch.

This collaboration also marks a step forward in building a collaborative ecosystem between regional financial institutions and the academic world, with the long-term goal of producing a generation that is highly competitive and adaptable to changing times.
