Yogyakarta – Armed with brilliant financial performance, the Regional Development Bank of South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung (Bank Sumsel Babel) won an award at the Infobank Top BUMD 2023 event as one of the regional government-owned banks that received the title "The Best". The award was given at the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta, Thursday, 11 May 2023.

The Infobank Research Bureau (birI) noted that the bank's credit distribution, the pride of the people of South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung, grew 11.33% on an annual basis or to IDR 20.47 trillion in September 2022. The soaring credit was supported by third party funds (DPK) which increased by 3 .32% to IDR 27.20 trillion in September 2022, compared to IDR 26.33 trillion in September 2021.

With the intermediary function running well, Bank Sumsel Babel led by Achmad Syamsudin as the main director was able to record a profit of IDR 516.98 billion or grew 11.12% from the previous year. Meanwhile, the assets of Bank Sumsel Babel grew 7.31% to IDR 34.22 trillion.

Infobank's version of the Top BUMD 2023 award was given based on the 2023 financial BUMD rating which had previously been carried out by the Infobank Research Bureau (birI), which was based on financial performance for 2021-2022 as of September.

Some of the assessment criteria used by the Infobank Research Bureau include aspects of efficiency and growth, in addition to assessing the aspects of risk profile, good corporate governance (GCG), earnings and capital.

"Thank God, this award can motivate us to be able to carve the best performance for Bank Sumsel Babel in the future," said Achmad Syamsudin.

"We also express our infinite gratitude for the full support of the Provincial Government of South Sumatra and the Provincial Government of the Bangka Belitung Islands as well as City and Regency Governments throughout South Sumatra and Babel" he concluded.
